In a series of graphs, Mish shows how the middle class has been crushed from the early '70's until today.

There is far too much focus on who the President is in America. The root of the problem is the Federal Reserve and our monetary policy, especially from when Nixon took us off the gold standard in the '70's in order to pay for the Vietnam War. Not much will change until we change our monetary system.
In the meantime, there are strategies and tactics we can use to protect and ourselves and thrive with the right education, skills, technology, and mentality. It is why I've started this blog to cover the skills, strategies, and tactics available to ordinary people that can improve their lives. Technology is a major tool for empowering common people. As a technologist myself, I have a separate blog for covering the technologies I believe can empower you to do things you would not otherwise be able to do.
In this blog I hope to cover politics, economics, investment, and finance with a focus on things that are ACTIONABLE; not knowledge for knowledge sake, but knowledge you can go out and do something with that will improve your life. Rather than debate if what Obama, the Democrats, or Republicans do is good or bad, I will try to focus on REALISTIC things most people can do. For example, most people can't buy lots of guns, ammo, gold, food, water, and live in the middle of nowhere, cut off from society if they believe the economy, the country, and society is going to collapse. They have family, friends, jobs, and a life to live. But there are things we can do that can prepare us for that contingency. That is where my focus will be; on the risks and opportunities that are before us.
